Zoey & Riley

Type 1 Diabetes Diagnosis Story

Creating

awareness & building community one day a time.

Our family’s diabetes journey began in 1994 when my sister was diagnosed at 12 years old. Little did I know that 27 years later my own two children would be diagnosed just two weeks apart. - Aimee (Mom)

It was April 2021, Riley and Zoey were just 3 and 1 years old when their lives were forever changed.

Not only were the kids adjusting to a new normal with their bodies but because of a move we had already planned, we were now in a whole new city just a month after diagnosis!

We had no “village” to rely on outside of the community we had begun to build online through social media.

Today we are four years into life with diabetes and the tiny impact we hoped we would make has grown into a calling and mission.

Sharing our family's experience with the enthusiastic consent and participation from Zoey and Riley, has allowed us to spread awareness, support our community, create change, and empower others.

Most importantly it has given Zoey and Riley a strong foundation for managing T1D and helping others do the same.
